Santos terminates loan contract with Lautaro Díaz
Argentine forward Lautaro Díaz is leaving Santos after the club reached an agreement to terminate his loan from Cruzeiro early.

Santos has officially confirmed the early termination of the loan agreement for Argentine forward Lautaro Díaz. The deal, which was originally scheduled to run until July 31, 2026, has been cut short.
During his time with the club, the 28-year-old made 34 appearances, contributing four goals and two assists. His final involvement came in a recent training match against Osasco Sporting, as the team continues its preparations for the remainder of the season.
The decision to release the player is linked to a proposal received by Cruzeiro, the club that holds his economic rights. Racing, from Argentina, has expressed interest in signing the forward at the request of head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda, who previously worked with Díaz during his tenure at Santos.
Díaz remains under contract with the club from Minas Gerais until the end of 2028, and the termination of his loan in Brazil clears the path for his potential return to Argentine football.
