Mexican midfielder Santiago Cisneros has been named in The Guardian's annual list of 60 of the world's most promising young talents. The 17-year-old, currently playing for León, is the only Mexican representative among the players born in 2009 to be included in this year's selection.

Originally from Tijuana, Cisneros moved to León at the age of 13 and has progressed through the club's youth ranks. Despite his young age, he is currently playing with the U-21 squad. During the current season, he has logged significant minutes for the club. He has also made his mark with the Mexican national youth teams, contributing goals and assists for both the U-16 and U-17 setups.

The Guardian highlighted his creativity and precision, specifically noting his ability to control the tempo in the final third and his tactical spatial awareness. The report also praised his ability to break down defensive blocks with accurate passing and his danger when cutting inside for long-range shots.

Cisneros joins a select group of Mexican players who have appeared on this prestigious list in previous years, including Marcelo Flores and Gilberto Mora. The next stage of his career involves continuing his professional development with the goal of breaking into the Liga MX first team.
