Ross McCrorie has officially completed his return to Rangers, departing Championship side Bristol City. The versatile defender has signed a three-year deal with the Ibrox club, which includes an option for an additional 12 months.

The move sees the 28-year-old reunite with manager Derek McInnes. McCrorie, a product of the Rangers academy, previously played under McInnes during a three-season spell at Aberdeen. It was McInnes who originally signed the defender for the Dons when he sought to further his career development.

It is a dream come true to come back up the road to the team I support. I am not that little kid who was at Rangers back in the day. I have changed a lot character-wise, and player-wise. I feel like I am ready now, and I want to come back here and win trophies. Ross McCrorie

McCrorie was a regular for Bristol City last season, making 41 appearances. His ability to operate across the defensive line and in midfield proved valuable during his time at Ashton Gate following his reported £2m move in 2023.

Derek McInnes highlighted the player's development: "He has developed and improved as a player, he has got that added experience, he is a full international now, and he knows the club inside out. He is a determined and competitive boy on the pitch, and he is determined to bring good times back to the club."
