Roma thrashes Lecce to maintain perfect Serie A start

Roma continued their powerful start to the Italian Serie A season by convincingly beating Lecce 4-0 away from home in the second round.
The visitors opened the scoring just four minutes in after a defensive error allowed Donyell Malen to find the net. The Dutchman continued his scoring streak by netting his second of the night in the 23rd minute, chipping goalkeeper Falcone from a tight angle. Just two minutes later, Matias Soule added a third after following up on his own initial effort.
In the second half, Roma maintained control despite Lecce's efforts to respond. The hosts came close to reducing the deficit, but Mario Hermoso cleared a shot off the goal line. Rodrigo Mora sealed the victory in the 65th minute, scoring his first goal for the club following a cross from Gianluca Mancini.
This marks the second consecutive 4-0 win for the team managed by Gian Piero Gasperini, following their opening-round victory over Fiorentina. Donyell Malen has been the standout performer, now boasting five goals in just two matches this season.
