Richarlison's proposed return to Everton has hit a significant roadblock. Despite both clubs reaching an agreement on a £25 million fee plus add-ons, the transfer has stalled due to a financial dispute between the Brazilian forward and Tottenham.
Reports indicate that the impasse stems from disagreements over legacy payments that the player believes he is owed. The situation escalated when the forward took to social media to express his frustration, stating that he refuses to have his future decided by others after enduring significant pressure and difficult circumstances during his time at the club.

While clarifying that he remains at the club's disposal under his current contract, Richarlison reiterated his desire to return to his former club, Everton, where he enjoyed a productive spell. With the deal in doubt, Everton are reportedly shifting their focus toward signing United States international Folarin Balogun from Monaco to bolster their attacking line.
