Report: Manchester City completed transfer while aware of panel ruling

According to a report from Bild, citing ESPN, the management of Manchester City was aware of the panel's decision as early as July, well before the ruling went public last Friday. Reports claim that the club arranged a transfer deal for Anderson on July 2, with the official signing completed on July 23, despite having already learned of the guilty verdict.
This disclosure has added fuel to the ongoing legal controversy. Manchester City has maintained a firm stance, stating that the proceedings are ongoing and highly confidential. The club continues to deny all allegations, reiterating that its position remains unchanged since the initial charges were brought forward in February 2023.
In a statement, the club also questioned the impartiality of the process, stating they had expected league officials to act with independence and integrity throughout the investigation. Both Manchester City and the Premier League have declined to provide further comment on these specific claims.
On the pitch, the squad under Enzo Maresca has remained unaffected by the off-field scrutiny. The team has enjoyed a perfect start to the season, winning all five of their opening Premier League matches and currently sitting three points clear at the top of the table.
