According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Real Madrid have added Manchester City midfielder Nico Gonzalez to their list of transfer targets following an unsuccessful attempt to sign Rodri. The 24-year-old Spaniard has become a point of interest for the Madrid side as they look to bolster their midfield options.
Newcastle United are also monitoring the situation and have already held initial talks with City regarding a potential transfer. Meanwhile, Real Madrid are weighing their options, keeping Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace under consideration as an alternative, having tracked the player for some time.
Nico Gonzalez joined Manchester City from Porto for £40 million during the 2025 winter transfer window. Although he expressed his intention to stay at the club during the summer, Manchester City remain open to offers. Throughout the 2025/26 season, the midfielder has made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring two goals.
