French forward Christopher Nkunku is set for a return to RB Leipzig. The German club has reached an agreement with AC Milan for a one-year loan deal for the 28-year-old, valued at €5 million.
The agreement includes a €27 million purchase option, which will become mandatory if the club qualifies for the UEFA Champions League next season. The deal is expected to be finalized within the next three days.
Nkunku's career has struggled since his €60 million move to Chelsea in 2023. His subsequent transfer to AC Milan for €37 million last year also failed to revitalize his form, as he managed just eight goals and three assists in 35 appearances last season.
For the Bundesliga side, this move represents a chance to revive the career of a player who enjoyed four highly successful seasons in Leipzig before his high-profile departure.
