Rayan Cherki was self-critical of his first-half display despite scoring a decisive brace in Manchester City's 4-1 win over Crystal Palace.

France international Rayan Cherki inspired Manchester City to a decisive 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Despite netting a crucial second-half brace, the playmaker was remarkably self-critical regarding his early impact on the game.
Speaking after the match, Cherki told Sky Sports:
My performance was so-so. In the first half, we didn't find the space, I played so s***. I need to show them I want to play, I want to score. Next time I want to give the ball around more. I looked at Enzo [Maresca] and I knew I needed to change it for the second half. Rayan Cherki
His electric start to the season has seen him record two goals and two assists in his opening two league matches. In doing so, he has emulated Thierry Henry and Didier Drogba, becoming only the third player in Premier League history to register a multi-goal and multi-assist performance across a team's opening two games.
Cherki also addressed the club's new chapter under manager Enzo Maresca. He emphasized the squad's determination to forge a new era of success following the summer clear-out, noting that while Pep Guardiola was a significant part of the club's history, the team is now focused on proving themselves under their new Italian tactician.
