The Algerian national team has announced the dismissal of Rayan Aït-Nouri from the current training camp. The decision was taken by head coach Brahim Hemdani on Saturday and is effective immediately.
The defender, who has earned 33 caps for the national side, will return to his club, Manchester City, earlier than originally scheduled. While the official statement did not elaborate on the specific reasons for the departure, the federation confirmed that the player has been released from the squad.
Reports suggest that the 25-year-old was disciplined due to his actions during the 3-1 victory over Zambia in the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers. Footage allegedly captured the player showing clear frustration after being sent to warm up twice without being subbed into the match, an attitude that reportedly dissatisfied the coaching staff.
