Rafael Márquez kicks off his era as head coach of the Mexico national team with a friendly match against Colombia at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. Known as "El Káiser," Márquez has selected a lineup that features mostly players who participated in the last World Cup, with one notable surprise.
The return of Hirving "Chucky" Lozano is the standout inclusion in the squad. Lozano has not represented the national team since November 15, 2025. His comeback adds significant attacking threat to the side as they embark on this new chapter under Márquez.
The starting XI includes Tala Rangel in goal. The defensive line consists of Jorge Sánchez, Israel Reyes, Johan Vásquez, and Jesús Gallardo. The midfield will be anchored by Erik Lira, Luis Chávez, and the national team's new number 10, Gilberto Mora.
