Pedro Emanuel marks one month at Vasco da Gama with defensive progress

Pedro Emanuel has officially completed his first month at the helm of Vasco da Gama. Since his arrival, the Portuguese manager has managed to stabilize the defensive unit, though the team continues to face significant challenges in the final third.

In the eight matches played under his guidance, Vasco has kept a clean sheet in four of them. The team has conceded only five goals in total, a clear sign of progress compared to the rest of the 2026 season where clean sheets were much harder to come by.

However, the attack remains a point of concern. Vasco has failed to score in four out of the eight matches managed by Emanuel, netting only seven goals in that period. The manager has openly discussed the need for new additions to the squad to provide different tactical characteristics.

While the club has already signed players such as Facundo Colidio and Santiago Sosa, the coaching staff is still working to find the right attacking formation. Emanuel maintains that while the current squad has quality, seeking reinforcements is necessary to expand the team's tactical alternatives.
