Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih finished their home match in the third round of the Ukrainian Premier League against Kyiv's Livyi Bereh in a 1-1 draw. Despite taking an early lead, the hosts were unable to secure all three points.
Kryvbas head coach Patrick van Leeuwen expressed satisfaction with his team's commitment and spirit, especially after going down to ten men. However, the Dutch manager admitted that the team should have been more clinical in the first half to put the game out of reach.
I think we were very motivated to play at home. We managed to score the first goal before the break, but I believe we should have scored a second one — the chances were there. Of course, I would like to see more goals from our side, but the guys worked hard and fought for a positive result. Patrick van Leeuwen
The coach also addressed the red card for Tiago Borges, noting that the player must learn from the situation. Van Leeuwen emphasized that while he is happy with the team's intensity, they need to become smarter on the pitch and maintain better control over the ball to manage games more effectively.
