Ahead of France's UEFA Nations League clash against Italy, Ousmane Dembele has spoken out to address rumors of a growing distance between himself and teammate Kylian Mbappe. Media reports had suggested a frosty relationship following an interview Mbappe gave to France Football, where he described himself as the "chosen one" while referencing Dembele's career path.

Dembele was quick to shut down the narrative when asked about the state of their friendship. "We have spoken. We are next to each other on the table. There isn’t a problem," Dembele stated clearly. In previous comments regarding the matter, Dembele explained that he had never viewed himself as the "chosen one" but rather as a player who has consistently worked hard throughout his career.

The forward emphasized his desire to move past the social media speculation and focus entirely on football. With Mbappe absent for the upcoming match, Dembele is expected to potentially captain the side under the leadership of Zineidine Zidane, who is managing his first game for the national team.

Both players remain in the spotlight as the Ballon d'Or ceremony in London approaches later this month. For now, Dembele insists that his focus remains on delivering results on the pitch during the international camp.
