Paris Saint-Germain have received a significant fitness boost ahead of the Champions League final against Arsenal at the Puskas Arena. Both Ousmane Dembele and Achraf Hakimi have overcome their respective injury concerns and returned to full training.
Dembele, who was substituted during a domestic match against Paris FC on May 17, dismissed any doubts regarding his participation. The winger praised the coaching staff for their management of the squad during a demanding season.
I was never scared about missing the final. I had ten, fifteen days to prepare for it. I’m feeling 100% fit, and the rest of the squad is ready as well. Ousmane Dembele
Head coach Luis Enrique also confirmed that Hakimi is fit and available for selection. The full-back had been sidelined since late April following an injury picked up against Bayern Munich.
The wider context is that PSG are looking to defend the European crown they secured last season. Facing them is an Arsenal side known for a disciplined defensive structure that has kept the opposition from scoring in open play throughout the entire knockout stage.
