Oleksiy Cherednyk: Gleyker Mendoza's move to Shakhtar was only a matter of time
Expert Oleksiy Cherednyk predicted Gleyker Mendoza's transfer to Shakhtar following his standout performance against Dynamo Kyiv.

Former player and scout Oleksiy Cherednyk showed great foresight by predicting Gleyker Mendoza's move to Shakhtar Donetsk. Shortly after the league match where the Kryvbas forward scored four times against Dynamo Kyiv, the specialist expressed his confidence that the Venezuelan would soon join the Donetsk side.
Cherednyk noted that Mendoza's performance in that game could not go unnoticed by the Miners. The expert joked that, given the style of Shakhtar's recruitment team, the contract could have been finalized during the halftime break of that very match.

The expert also suggested that the transfer move might have been initiated by club president Rinat Akhmetov. During the 2025/26 season, Gleyker Mendoza has been highly productive, netting 11 goals in 26 appearances for Kryvbas, including a strike against Shakhtar in the previous round.
