Official: Vincenzo Italiano leaves Bologna despite historic trophy success
Vincenzo Italiano has terminated his contract with Bologna by mutual agreement, concluding his tenure shortly after leading the club to Coppa Italia glory.

Bologna have officially announced the departure of head coach Vincenzo Italiano. Despite a contract running until the summer of 2027, the manager initiated the decision to terminate his deal after informing the board that his cycle at the club had come to an end.
Along with Italiano, his entire coaching staff has also left the club. The organization expressed its gratitude to the manager for the passion and dedication demonstrated during his time at the helm.
Italiano took charge in the summer of 2024. During his two-year spell, he oversaw 107 matches, recording 47 wins, and delivered the club's first trophy in 51 years by winning the Coppa Italia in the 2024/25 season.
Bologna finished the current Serie A campaign in eighth place, missing out on European qualification. Their European journey this term ended in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, where they were eliminated by the eventual champions, Aston Villa.
