Christopher Nkunku's return to RB Leipzig appears to be a success. The forward has quickly settled back into familiar surroundings, re-establishing himself as a key starter within just a few months. He has featured in the starting XI for four of his six total appearances across the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
His impact has been immediate, highlighted by a goal against Hamburg and a hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt. Additionally, Nkunku proved his creative value on the European stage by providing an assist for Maksimovic during the September clash against Como.
The agreement between AC Milan and RB Leipzig is structured as a paid loan worth €3.5 million. It includes a non-mandatory option to buy for approximately €28 million. The German club will assess his performance throughout the season before deciding whether to make the move permanent next summer.
Regarding his salary, the clubs have agreed to split the costs equally. Nkunku's €5 million net annual wages are covered by both Milan and Leipzig, with each side paying €2.5 million.
