The player is reportedly keen on the move to Newcastle, which is aiding the club's efforts to finalize the transfer. For Manchester City, the sale would align with their ongoing squad restructuring plans. Gonzalez, who joined the club from Porto in 2025, has made 41 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
While Real Madrid were previously linked with an interest in the Spaniard, Newcastle are currently the frontrunners to complete the deal in the near future.
