New Arsenal star Christos Tzolis receives hero's welcome at former club

Just weeks after completing a £34 million move to Arsenal, Christos Tzolis returned to Belgium on Sunday. The 24-year-old was a special guest at Club Brugge's derby victory against Cercle Brugge.

Although he left the club during the summer window, the Greece international was paraded on the pitch before kick-off. He received a rapturous reception from the home crowd and even took part in a ceremonial fake kick-off. The event marked a fond farewell following a highly successful two-year spell where he scored 43 goals in 108 appearances.

Tzolis has made an immediate impact under Mikel Arteta, providing two assists in the Community Shield win against Manchester City and another in the league victory over Coventry. Captain Martin Odegaard praised the winger's intelligence and ability to consistently find the right pass.

With his place in Arteta's system becoming increasingly important, Tzolis will now aim to carry this momentum into the next challenge. The Gunners travel to face Aston Villa on Monday as he looks to secure the left-wing position.
