22-year-old left-back Nazinho is poised to become Monaco's first summer signing. A principle agreement has been reached between Monaco and Cercle Brugge to secure the defender's transfer.
The Portuguese player is scheduled to undergo a medical examination next week. Once completed, he will sign a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 side. The transfer fee for the move is set at five million euros.
The relatively smooth nature of the deal reflects the strategic partnership between the two clubs. Monaco utilizes Cercle Brugge as a development platform for high-potential players to gain experience before stepping up to the Principality side. Paris Brunner is already part of this developmental pathway, and it is possible that forward Steve Ngoura could follow a similar route in the future.
