Napoli and Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay is scheduled to undergo a minor heart procedure following the discovery of a "mild benign arrhythmia."
The 29-year-old was substituted during Sunday's Serie A match against Como, which prompted medical checks. The club confirmed he will undergo cardiac arrhythmia ablation in the coming days. This procedure involves using heat or cold energy to create tiny scars in the heart, effectively blocking faulty signals to restore a standard heartbeat.
Napoli anticipate that the midfielder will be available for selection again following the international break in early October. Consequently, he is expected to miss the upcoming Scotland Nations League fixtures against Slovenia, North Macedonia, and Switzerland.
