Renowned football coach Myron Markevych has shared his perspective on the current state of the Ukrainian Premier League. Although currently unattached, the veteran manager continues to follow the national championship closely.
According to Markevych, the league currently lacks a sufficient number of high-quality players.
«I would like to see it be more interesting, with more quality players. Especially since there are opportunities for young talent now,» said Markevych.
Markevych's most recent position was at Karpaty Lviv. He successfully guided the team from the First League to the UPL, but resigned shortly after. The primary reason for his departure was a disagreement with the club's management over squad building. The coach demanded the signing of qualified players to compete for European qualification spots, but his requests were rejected by the leadership.
