Mykhailo Mudryk: Returning to Chelsea was my mission
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk shares his emotions on returning to training after a 20-month suspension and how he stayed fit during his absence.
Mykhailo Mudryk has returned to training with Chelsea following a 20-month absence due to a doping scandal. The 25-year-old Ukrainian winger has already made his return to the pitch, appearing as a substitute in a friendly match against Juventus in Hong Kong.
Currently training at Cobham, Mudryk described the return to his football routine as a special milestone in his career.
I am very happy. It has been a long time, so being back on the same training pitch is a very happy moment for me. I am grateful for the opportunity to be back. I was welcomed warmly. Mykhailo Mudryk
During his long forced break, the winger maintained a strict professional regime, treating the time as an 18-month pre-season. He trained six days a week, often with two sessions a day, while maintaining a precise diet and recovery plan.
My goal was to come back and show myself to the football world again. It was my mission, and I knew what I had to do. Only through hard work can you achieve anything. Mykhailo Mudryk
Beyond his appearance against Juventus, Mudryk has also featured in friendly matches against AC Milan and Johor, signaling his progress as he aims to reintegrate into the team.
