Monaco trigger €11m purchase option for Ansu Fati

AS Monaco have officially completed the permanent transfer of Ansu Fati from Barcelona. The deal is valued at €11 million, with the 23-year-old forward signing a contract that keeps him at the club until 2030. As part of the agreement, the Catalan club has retained a percentage of any future transfer fee.

Fati spent the previous season on loan at the French club, where he successfully rediscovered his form. The forward made 30 appearances and scored 12 goals, boasting the best goal-per-minute ratio in Ligue 1. His performances were instrumental in securing his permanent move, as he became a reliable attacking threat for the squad.

This move marks a fresh start for the Spaniard, who previously struggled for consistency following his early success at Barcelona. Once the youngest goalscorer in the club's history, Fati scored 29 goals in 123 appearances for the Blaugrana before his loan spell in France allowed him to move away from the immense pressure in Spain.
