Maurizio Sarri is close to a return to coaching in Serie A. According to reports from Nicolo Schira, the veteran manager is in the final stages of negotiations to become the new head coach of Atalanta.
The two parties are discussing the terms of a contract that would see Sarri remain at the club until the summer of 2029. The proposed deal includes an annual salary of 3.5 million euros for the Italian tactician.
This development is significant for the Bergamo-based side, who are currently sitting in seventh place in the league table with 58 points heading into the final round of the season.
The club's immediate focus remains on the pitch, as they are scheduled to play an away fixture against Fiorentina on May 22. This match will serve as the final game of their current Serie A campaign.
