Mauricio Pochettino confirms 26-player USMNT squad for World Cup

U.S. men's national team boss Mauricio Pochettino has officially confirmed his 26-player squad for the upcoming World Cup. The roster, which was revealed in New York on Tuesday, confirms the selections following extensive reporting over the weekend.

The squad includes 13 returning players from the 2022 tournament, eight of whom started every game for the team during that campaign. In total, 13 players will be making their World Cup debuts. Since his appointment in the fall of 2024, Pochettino has evaluated 61 different players before narrowing the group down to these final 26.

With an average age of just under 27, this represents the fifth-youngest team the U.S. has sent to a World Cup. 21 of the selected players have already secured silverware with the USMNT, having previously won either the CONCACAF Nations League or the Gold Cup.

While the roster is now public, it remains subject to official FIFA submission by the June 1 deadline. Regulations allow for player replacements until 24 hours before the team's opening match.
