A chaotic mass brawl broke out between Fenerbahce and Lyon staff following a Champions League play-off match, involving former Arsenal man Matteo Guendouzi.
Following Fenerbahce's 2-1 victory over Lyon in the second leg of their Champions League play-off, the Turkish side's qualification for the tournament proper was entirely overshadowed by a violent post-match brawl. The scenes at the Groupama Stadium saw players and staff clash as tensions boiled over.
The incident was largely triggered by the conduct of Matteo Guendouzi, who spent much of the night taunting the home crowd due to his history with Lyon's fierce rivals Marseille. After the final whistle, the midfielder was seen shouting "Allez l'OM" into a television camera, which incited a hostile reaction from the home contingent.

The situation escalated significantly when Antonio Ferreira, identified as a Lyon goalkeeping coach, attempted a flying kick at Guendouzi as he headed toward the tunnel. This sparked a massive melee, with members of both camps rushing into the fray. Security staff were eventually forced to intervene to separate the warring factions.
Fenerbahce head coach Ismail Kartal publicly supported his player, while Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso condemned the behavior as lacking humility. Both clubs now face the likely prospect of severe disciplinary action from UEFA regarding the conduct of their staff and players.
