Marc Bernal: 'I owe my life to Hansi Flick'

Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal has opened up about his deep gratitude towards head coach Hansi Flick. Following a challenging recovery from a cruciate ligament injury, the teenager has credited the German manager for his successful integration into the senior squad.

"I owe him my life. He trusted me when I was only 17, and I will always be grateful to him," Bernal told Catalunya Radio.

The 17-year-old is currently in a state of anticipation regarding the upcoming Spain squad announcement for the World Cup. Bernal confirmed that he is holding off on making any summer holiday plans until Monday's administrative announcement, as representing his country remains his ultimate goal.

The midfielder also reflected on the departure of Robert Lewandowski, praising the striker's legacy at the club. Looking ahead, Bernal expressed his desire to continue winning titles with Barcelona, noting that the team is already focused on future objectives following their narrow exit from the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid.
