Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare could be set for a move to England. According to reports, Manchester United are showing serious interest in the 24-year-old Malian international.

The French club signed the player from Rapid Wien last summer for 8 million euros, a move that has proven highly successful. During the 2025/26 season, Sangare made 33 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing four assists, becoming a cornerstone of the team. His performance earned him the Marc-Vivien Foe award for the best African player in the French league.

Sangare's contributions were instrumental in helping Lens win the French Cup, sparking interest from over ten European clubs. However, it is Manchester United that currently shows the most persistent interest.

For the Red Devils, reinforcing the midfield is a priority following the departure of Casemiro, as the club aims to strengthen the squad before returning to the Champions League. Although Sangare is under contract with Lens until 2030, the club acknowledges the challenge of retaining such a key performer. While no formal offers have been made yet, it is expected that the midfielder's valuation could exceed 40 million euros.
