Manchester United ready to spend over €115m on new midfielder
Manchester United have prioritized signing a new midfielder this summer and have identified a shortlist of eight candidates.
The management of Manchester United is planning a significant investment to bolster the team's midfield during the upcoming summer transfer window. Securing a new central midfielder has become the primary objective for the Red Devils, with the club prepared to spend up to £100 million, equivalent to over €115 million, on the acquisition.
The club's shortlist currently includes eight players: Elliot Anderson (Nottingham Forest), Aurélien Tchouaméni (Real Madrid), Sandro Tonali (Newcastle), Matheus Fernandes (West Ham), Carlos Baleba (Brighton), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), and João Gomes (Wolverhampton).
While the club intends to strengthen other positions as well, those moves are not expected to involve such substantial financial outlays.
In the recently concluded season, the team under the guidance of Michael Carrick finished third in the Premier League standings.
