The potential sporting sanctions are wide-ranging. Speculation suggests the Premier League is seeking an unprecedented points deduction or relegation to a lower division. However, more extreme scenarios have surfaced regarding the club's standing within the English football pyramid.
Reports indicate that the English Football League (EFL) might act in solidarity with the Premier League, potentially refusing to accommodate the club should it be expelled from the top flight. In this extreme case, the club could theoretically be removed from all professional tiers of English football.
