Former executive Paolo Maldini has opened up about the challenges he faced while searching for a new head coach. He revealed that alongside Andrea Pirlo, he had identified both Daniele De Rossi and Fabio Grosso as potential candidates.
Maldini noted that all three men were World Cup winners, making them strong prospects for the role. However, the appointment process was restricted by political agreements within the Italian game.
