Lyon planning to secure permanent deal for Roman Yaremchuk

The French side aims to retain the Ukrainian forward but is looking to negotiate a fee lower than the current buy option.

French side Lyon are keen to secure a permanent transfer for Ukraine international Roman Yaremchuk. The 30-year-old forward is currently spending the season at the club on loan.

According to reports, the Ligue 1 outfit is not prepared to trigger the five million euro buyout clause included in the initial agreement. Instead, they intend to enter negotiations with the player's parent club, Olympiacos, in hopes of securing a more favorable fee.

Lyon have already invested 1.5 million euros in loan fees over the past six months. Throughout the current campaign, Yaremchuk has made 14 appearances across domestic competitions and the Europa League, scoring five goals.

The striker's current contract with the Greek club runs until June 2028. The possibility of a permanent switch now hinges on whether the two clubs can reach a compromise on the transfer valuation.
