Luis Díaz avoids harsh criticism after Bayern draw
Luis Díaz earned a positive rating from German media following Bayern Munich's 3-3 Champions League draw against Viking.
Bayern Munich struggled in a 3-3 draw against Norwegian side Viking in the Champions League, exposing significant defensive issues. Following the match, the German newspaper Bild, which uses a rating system from 1 (best) to 6 (worst), issued harsh critiques for most of the Bavarian squad.
Colombian forward Luis Díaz was one of the few to escape the backlash, receiving a rating of 3. The 29-year-old ended a six-game goal drought by scoring the goal that put Bayern ahead 3-2 after they had trailed 0-2. Despite his contribution to the comeback, the lead was lost when the opponent equalized in the 90th minute.
Díaz shared the rating of 3 with goalkeeper Jonas Urbig and defender Dayot Upamecano. The highest-rated players were Konrad Laimer and Harry Kane, who received a 2 after the English striker netted a brace. Most other players, particularly in defense and midfield, received low scores due to their performance.
The most severe criticism was reserved for French attacker Michael Olise, who was handed a 6 after being sent off in a sequence of just five seconds. Olise received a first yellow card for stopping a counterattack and was immediately shown a second yellow and a red card for throwing the ball at an opponent's face.
