Midfielder Sofie Lundgaard has officially completed a permanent transfer from Liverpool to Eintracht Frankfurt. The fee for the 24-year-old has not been disclosed.
Lundgaard joined Liverpool in January 2023 and went on to make 42 appearances for the club. However, her time at the Merseyside outfit was significantly hampered by injury issues, including two anterior cruciate ligament injuries that limited her playing time over the past few seasons.
Before her stint in England, the Danish international played for Fortuna Hjorring. She now heads to the Frauen-Bundesliga to continue her career with the German club.
Elsewhere in the transfer market, Birmingham City have seen an approach for Sevilla winger Fatou Kanteh rejected. Sources indicate the Blues offered around 100,000 Euros, but the Spanish club values the 29-year-old much higher and has no desire to sell. Birmingham are not expected to return with an improved bid for Kanteh, who has spent her entire career in Spain.
