Liverpool have taken a significant step in their recruitment drive by reaching an agreement on personal terms with 18-year-old PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye. Reports indicate that the parties have settled on the structure of a five-year deal.
The player's decision to favor the Merseyside club comes despite concrete interest from German side Bayer Leverkusen. Mbaye has opted against a move to the Bundesliga, prioritizing a transition to the Premier League.
The next phase of the process involves Liverpool negotiating a transfer fee directly with the Parisian side. Given that Mbaye’s current contract at PSG runs until the summer of 2028, the French club holds a strong bargaining position in the discussions.
Despite his young age, Mbaye has already gained substantial experience at the professional level. He has made 42 official appearances for PSG’s senior team, contributing four goals and four assists.
Alongside the pursuit of Mbaye, Liverpool are reportedly exploring a deal for another PSG winger, Bradley Barcola. However, as no valuation has been agreed upon for either player, talk of a double signing remains premature at this stage.
