The Coupe de France encounter between Lens and Nice has seen both sides look for an early breakthrough. Nice initiated an attacking sequence with a corner kick, but their delivery, aimed towards Sofiane Diop, was cleared efficiently by the home defense.
Lens responded with a significant opportunity in the 13th minute. Following a cross from Mathieu Udol that forced a defensive intervention, Allan Saint-Maximin found himself in space at the edge of the penalty area. His curled right-footed strike narrowly missed the top corner of the visitors' goal.
