Lazio defender Patric to join UAE club Al-Ittifaq

Lazio central defender Patric is nearing a move to Dubai-based side Al-Ittifaq, according to journalist Nicolo Schira. The 33-year-old Spaniard is set to depart the Italian club as a free agent.

The player is expected to sign a contract running until the end of June 2028. A product of the Barcelona academy, Patric moved to Lazio in 2015 for a fee of 500,000 euros. During his tenure, he made 244 appearances, contributing six goals and six assists.

With the Biancocelesti, the defender won the 2018/19 Coppa Italia and two Italian Super Cups. At Al-Ittifaq, he will join forces with high-profile teammates Mario Balotelli and Douglas Costa.

The club currently faces a difficult campaign, sitting 15th and last in the UAE's second-tier standings after five matches.
