The politician, representing the Liberal Radical Party, used social media to mock the player's heritage and education after her national team's defeat.
Mbappé issued a firm response, stating that the senator's behavior overshadowed the efforts of her own country's players. He denounced the rhetoric as reckless and unacceptable.
