Greece defender Kostas Tsimikas opened up about a special reunion with former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, which took place after the UEFA Nations League clash between Germany and Greece. The Greek side secured a narrow 1-0 victory on away soil.
Tsimikas, who worked under the German coach during his time at Anfield, expressed his delight at seeing his former mentor again. The player highlighted the personal significance of the encounter.
"The best part for me today was seeing Jurgen again after such a long break. We have been through so much together. We share warm feelings and mutual respect. I even told him: 'I used everything you taught me against you, and I beat you with your own weapons.' He laughed and replied: 'Congratulations'," said Kostas Tsimikas.
The defender is now shifting his focus to the next challenges. Tsimikas noted that he needs to recover quickly as Greece faces another decisive match in just three days.
