Konrad Laimer signs new Bayern Munich contract

Austrian international Konrad Laimer has officially extended his contract with Bayern Munich. The deal concludes a complex administrative saga that spanned several months and at times appeared likely to stall, securing the 29-year-old’s future at the Allianz Arena for the next three seasons.

The negotiations were marked by public tension, most notably in May when honorary president Uli Hoeness addressed the situation. Hoeness delivered a blunt reality check regarding the club's wage structure, stating that while Laimer is a hard worker, he is not a player of the stature of Diego Maradona or Harry Kane.

The breakthrough followed Laimer’s impressive individual performance at the World Cup, where he played every minute for Austria until their round of 32 exit. Board member for sport Max Eberl expressed satisfaction with the deal, emphasizing that Laimer’s reliability is a vital asset for the team's upcoming domestic and European campaigns.
