Kingdom Holding Company has officially finalized the acquisition of 70 per cent of the shares of Al-Hilal Club Company from the Public Investment Fund. The deal was completed on Tuesday following the fulfillment of all regulatory and internal requirements, with the payment of 840 million riyals in financial consideration.

The agreement valued the total equity of Al-Hilal Club Company at 1.2 billion riyals, establishing the price for the 70 per cent stake. Both parties had signed the share purchase agreement on April 16, 2026, with the closing procedures concluding approximately four and a half months later. Kingdom Holding confirmed that the financial terms remained unchanged from the initial announcement.

The Public Investment Fund has held the principal shareholding in Al-Hilal since July 2023, as part of a broader privatization project involving several major Saudi clubs. The Fund indicated that the divestment aligns with its strategy to maximize returns, recycle capital into the domestic economy, and contribute to the growth of the sports sector.

Moving forward, Kingdom Holding will support Al-Hilal in enhancing its commercial performance, expanding international partnerships, and upgrading its sporting infrastructure. The transition is aimed at driving long-term financial sustainability and ensuring the club remains a competitive force both on the pitch and in the commercial market.
