Karim Adeyemi, recently signed by Barcelona, has confirmed that working with head coach Hansi Flick was the deciding factor in his move to the Spanish side. The German international completed his transfer from Borussia Dortmund, signing a contract that runs until 2031.
During his official unveiling, Adeyemi was clear about why he chose the move: «Flick is the main reason. He told me what the club needs, and I came here to prove that.»
The forward noted that he and Flick had an extensive conversation regarding his role, and he expressed his readiness to contribute wherever needed. Adeyemi described the transfer as a major career step, noting that the club is unlike any other in the world.
The move reunites the player with Flick, who was the coach who originally gave Adeyemi his first senior cap for the Germany national team.
