Juventus weighing free transfer for Manchester City midfielder

Turin-based Juventus are showing concrete interest in Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovačić. The Italian club's management is closely monitoring the 32-year-old's position at the Etihad Stadium given his current contract status.
In January, the final six months of the Croatian's deal with the English club will begin. This allows the player to officially negotiate with other teams, and representatives of the Serie A side are ready to offer him a deal as a free agent.
The potential transfer is influenced by Kovačić's lack of playing time. In the current Premier League season, the midfielder has logged only 42 minutes across two substitute appearances. Reports also previously suggested Juventus were targeting a defender from the same club.
