Juventus in talks over Emiliano Martinez despite fractured finger

Juventus are in negotiations to sign Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez, even as concerns persist over a persistent finger injury. The Italian side is reportedly prepared to take a gamble on the Argentine international despite the medical uncertainty.

Beyond the financial terms yet to be agreed with the Premier League club, Juventus are prioritizing a full assessment of the goalkeeper's condition. There is a possibility that Martinez may require surgery to address the fracture, a procedure that would sideline him for up to three months.

The goalkeeper has been transparent about his injury history. In May, he revealed that he broke a finger during the warm-up before a Europa League final. Later, ahead of the World Cup final, Martinez admitted that specialists had advised him to undergo surgery, but he opted against it to continue playing, noting that his hand still caused him discomfort at the time.
