England midfielder Jordan Henderson has opened up about the unfortunate accident that sidelined him during the 2026 World Cup. The 36-year-old suffered a broken arm after falling over advertising hoardings while celebrating the side's dramatic round-of-16 victory against Mexico.
It's alright, thanks. Not my finest hour but the main job was to go there and win and progress to the quarterfinal, and we managed to do that so that's the main thing. Henderson has since rejoined the England setup, participating in training while wearing a protective cast. Despite the severity of the fracture, he has refused to rule out a potential return to action before the tournament ends, stating that he will keep his options open as his recovery progresses.
The veteran midfielder remains a key figure in the camp, supporting his teammates from the sidelines. England's campaign continues to progress after a hard-fought 2-1 extra-time win over Norway, courtesy of a brace from Jude Bellingham. The Three Lions now face a high-stakes semi-final clash against defending champions Argentina this Wednesday in Atlanta.
