Joao Palhinha agrees personal terms with Aston Villa
The Bayern Munich midfielder has informed his club of his desire to join the Birmingham side, with negotiations expected soon.
Bayern Munich midfielder Joao Palhinha has reached an agreement on personal terms with Aston Villa and is keen to continue his career in England. The 31-year-old has already informed the Bayern leadership of his wish to make the move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the player is ready to join the Premier League side as soon as the two clubs settle on the financial conditions of the deal. Negotiations between the clubs are expected to take place in the near future.
A key point of contention remains the transfer structure. Aston Villa is reportedly interested in a loan arrangement, whereas Bayern Munich prefers a permanent sale. The German club may consider a temporary move only if the deal sufficiently covers Palhinha's salary and other associated costs.
Bayern signed the Portuguese international from Fulham in the summer of 2024 for 51 million euros. Before his move to Munich, he spent significant time at Craven Cottage, establishing himself as one of the Premier League's top defensive midfielders.
