Jayden Lienou: Wales call up teenage Leeds United left-back

Teenage Leeds United left-back Jayden Lienou has received his first senior Wales call-up for friendly matches against Ghana and Romania.

Leeds United left-back Jayden Lienou has been called up to the senior Wales squad for the first time. The 18-year-old, who has previously represented his country at the U-19 level, will join the group for upcoming friendly fixtures against Ghana and Romania.

Lienou moved to the Leeds academy from Manchester City last year. While he is yet to make his first-team debut for the club, he has been gaining experience at the senior level, serving as an unused substitute in two Premier League matches earlier this month.

The Football Association of Wales did not clarify whether Lienou’s inclusion in the squad was a replacement for any previously selected players.

Wales are set to host Ghana at the Cardiff City Stadium this Tuesday. Following that, the squad will travel to Bucharest for their match against Romania the following Saturday.
