Jack Moylan called into much-changed Republic of Ireland squad
Lincoln City's Jack Moylan has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the upcoming friendlies against Qatar and Canada following several withdrawals.
Lincoln City midfielder Jack Moylan has been added to the Republic of Ireland squad for Thursday's friendly against Qatar at the Aviva Stadium. Moylan, who netted a hat-trick during his debut in a 5-0 win over Grenada earlier this month, joins the group following an update to the roster by manager Heimir Hallgrimsson.
The squad has seen significant changes due to a series of injury-related withdrawals. Middlesbrough duo Alan Browne and Alex Gilbert are unavailable, as are Southampton's Finn Azaz and Ryan Manning. Additionally, Strasbourg defender Andrew Omobamidele has been ruled out.
To manage personnel across the two upcoming fixtures in Dublin and Montreal, the coaching staff has brought in players with specific availability. Moylan, defender Dara O'Shea, and goalkeeper Caoimhín Kelleher will be available for the home match against Qatar only. Meanwhile, Charlton Athletic's Conor Coventry and Bohemians' Dawson Devoy are scheduled to join the squad later this week specifically for the trip to Canada.
